ORGANIZATION
The Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival is a Missouri Not-for-Profit Corporation and a sanctioned activity by the Missouri, Illinois, Kansas and Tennessee State High School Activities' Association. The festival is produced in association with the University of Missouri - St.Louis, Department of Music.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival is to provide a professional level showcase for high school marching bands. In addition, the Festival promotes musical arts and education within the community thereby providing opportunities to enrich the quality of life for all.

FORMAT
Bands are divided by number of players in the brass, woodwind and percussion sections. There are four divisions based on the size of the bands: Blue, Red, Silver and Gold. The blue division is for smaller bands and the gold division for the largest bands. 48 bands participate in the festival and are judged by eight judges. There is a 15 minute performance limit - including entry and exit from the field.
