          DIRECTOR'S NOTICE:
The director's meeting originally scheduled for Thursday, September 19 has been changed.  The new meeting date is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16. The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel - Lindbergh and I-70, 6:30 P.M.

July 22, 2002

           Rhonda Harper has accepted the position of band director at Riverview Gardens High School. Prior to this appointment she taught at University City High School and Cleveland NROTC High School. We welcome Rhonda to the Festival and her new job.

            Welcome back to the festival the Ft. Zumwalt South High School Marching Band directed by GARY BRANDES.

            Willard High School and Newton High School have indicated they will not participate in the 2002 Greater St. Louis Marching Band Festival, October 19th.

April 20, 2002

           The Lindbergh High School Marching Band, under the direction of ROBERT SPIEGELMAN, entertained a large crowd at the Spirit of St. Louis airport in Chesterfield on Saturday, April 20, as ERIC LINDBERGH departed for New York on his quest to fly the same route of his famous grandfather CHARLES LINDBERGH.

            The Illinois State University [Bloomington/Normal]Marching Band Festival, originally scheduled for October 19, 2002, has been rescheduled to October 26th.

April 7, 2002

           CHRIS FORD, Kickapoo High School Band Director, will leave music education to become a high school principal.

April 1, 2002

            Congratulation to RYAN CURTIS who has been named the new band director at St. Charles High School.  Ryan graduated from Southwest Missouri State University where he was the drum major for two years for the Pride Band.  He is the son of Ron Curtis and Donna Pavelski.

April  1, 2002

            KEVIN WALSH, Riverview Gardens band director, will step down from his high school position next year to teach band at Riverview Junior High School.
